The reality star and aspiring lawyer remains determined to achieve her legal dreams despite falling short on the bar exam and facing a wave of criticism over her new Hulu series.
Kim Kardashian is keeping her focus on the bigger picture — even when the headlines aren’t in her favor.
The entrepreneur and reality star revealed over the weekend that she did not pass the bar exam she took in July, sharing the update with her millions of Instagram followers in an honest and optimistic message.
“Well… I’m not a lawyer yet, I just play a very well-dressed one on TV,” Kardashian wrote on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, referencing her new role as a lawyer in All’s Fair, the Ryan Murphy–created Hulu legal drama that premiered last week.
“Six years into this law journey, and I’m still all in until I pass the bar,” she continued. “No shortcuts, no giving up — just more studying and even more determination.”
The 44-year-old reality star, who first announced her aspirations to become a lawyer in 2019, also took a moment to thank her supporters and mentors for standing by her through the long process. “Falling short isn’t failure — it’s fuel,” she wrote. “I was so close to passing the exam and that only motivates me even more. Let’s go!!!!!!!!!!!”
The update comes amid a turbulent week for Kardashian, whose new legal drama All’s Fair debuted to a flood of negative reviews. The Guardian gave the show a rare zero-star rating, calling it “fascinatingly, incomprehensibly, existentially terrible,” while The Times described it as “possibly the worst television drama ever made.”
In true Kardashian fashion, she responded with wit and self-awareness. Taking to Instagram once again, she shared a collection of screenshots featuring both positive and negative reactions to the show, captioning it cheekily: “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?”

While critics may not have embraced her TV turn, Kardashian’s resilience remains intact — both on-screen and off. Her law journey, which began as part of California’s “reading the law” program (an apprenticeship-style alternative to law school), has been marked by persistence and transparency.
“I’m doing this for myself, for my kids, and for those who need a voice,” she said in a previous interview.
With a new series, continued legal studies, and her characteristic determination, Kim Kardashian shows no signs of slowing down — even when the verdict doesn’t go her way.
