Green Day Honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and Launches New ‘Kerplunk Kandy Grape’ Slurpee

Green Day Celebrates Hollywood Star and Slurpee Launch with Fans, Unveiling Exclusive Flavor and a Pop-Up Experience

Punk rock icons celebrate milestone with exclusive 7-Eleven collaboration and immersive fan pop-up in Hollywood

Green Day is turning heads in Hollywood — both on the streets and at the Slurpee machine.

Fresh off receiving their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the iconic punk rock trio — Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool — celebrated in true Green Day fashion: with the launch of their very own Slurpee flavor. The exclusive “Kerplunk Kandy Grape” Slurpee debuted nationwide on May 2, 2025, in collaboration with 7-Eleven, their coffee brand Punk Bunny, and the beverage’s two-day fan pop-up in Los Angeles.

The moment marks a significant milestone for the band, whose Hollywood star — the 2,810th ever awarded — is now enshrined at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, right next to Amoeba Hollywood. “I never expected in a million years that we’d ever have a star like that,” said Armstrong, 53, describing the honor as “like a fever dream.” Dirnt added, “It’s very emotional… great for the fans. They can all come here and see something that validates their love for Green Day.”

Joining the ceremony were music producer Rob Cavallo, media personality Matt Pinfield, actor Ryan Reynolds — who gave a heartfelt speech — and rap legend Flavor Flav.

As the celebratory weekend continued, Green Day joined fans to launch the new Slurpee flavor at an event in Hollywood. The vibrant green drink, which blends cotton candy and grape flavors, is named after Kerplunk!, their breakthrough 1991 album. The band chose the name in homage to their early days, when they frequented 7-Eleven while on the road.

Dirnt called the collaboration a dream realized. “When you’re a little kid, you’re mixing all the different Slurpee flavors together… Who doesn’t want to design their own Slurpee, right?” Cool added, “It’s hard to be upset or mad when you’re drinking a Slurpee. It induces happiness — and that’s something we can totally get behind.”

The Kerplunk Kandy Grape Slurpee is available for a limited time at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes locations across the U.S. In Los Angeles, fans can unlock entry to the Kerplunk Kandy Speakeasy pop-up at 6501 Hollywood Blvd by presenting their cup or receipt. Open May 3–4 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. PT, the immersive experience offers product sampling, exclusive merch, and apparel customization.

With Coachella 2025 behind them, a Slurpee in hand, and a star beneath their feet, Green Day continues to prove they’re not just rock legends — they’re still making history.
