Rock Icon Dazzles with Medley of Hits, Including New Track “Fly” Featuring Quavo

Lenny Kravitz lit up the stage at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with a high-energy medley that celebrated his rock legacy while showcasing his modern evolution. Introduced by British singer-songwriter Suki Waterhouse as a “rock god with a sound completely his own,” Kravitz began his set with the 1993 classic “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” donning a white boa and a silver-fringe vest that matched the electric energy of his performance.

Transitioning smoothly into his disco-infused 2024 single “Human,” Kravitz was joined by dancers and his co-guitarist, as the iconic musician mixed vintage rock with a futuristic groove. The performance culminated with a show-stopping rendition of “Fly,” a trap-influenced reinvention of his 1998 hit “Fly Away,” featuring Quavo. The crowd, including stars like Post Malone and Paris Hilton, sang along to the unforgettable chorus of the original, while embracing the new version.

Earlier in the night, Kravitz earned a moonperson for Best Rock Video for “Human,” marking his second win at the VMAs, with his first dating back to 1993 for Best Male Video with “Are You Gonna Go My Way.” His history with the VMAs is legendary, having performed alongside Madonna in 1998 and presented the Best Rock Video award to Aerosmith that same year.

Kravitz’s 2024 VMA performance reminded the audience of his enduring talent and his ability to blend past and present, making him a timeless force in rock and beyond.
