Astronomer CPO Kristin Cabot Resigns Following Viral Coldplay “Kiss Cam” Moment

Leadership shakeup at Astronomer intensifies as CPO Kristin Cabot resigns following viral kiss cam moment with ex-CEO Andy Byron at Coldplay concert.

The tech company’s leadership shakeup continues as Chief People Officer steps down days after former CEO Andy Byron exited amid widespread attention over concert clip

Kristin Cabot, the Chief People Officer at data orchestration company Astronomer, has officially resigned, the company confirmed to CNN on Thursday. Her departure follows closely on the heels of former CEO Andy Byron’s resignation after the pair were spotted in a now-viral video from a Coldplay concert earlier this month.

The incident occurred at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where Cabot and Byron appeared on the venue’s “kiss cam” during the show. The Jumbotron footage showed the two embracing before quickly pulling apart and attempting to duck out of view. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin added to the buzz, joking from the stage, “Whoa, look at these two. Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

The moment, lighthearted on the surface, triggered widespread speculation across social media and within professional circles once the video spread online. In its aftermath, Astronomer took swift internal action. Byron was placed on administrative leave shortly after the concert and officially resigned last week.

While various unverified statements attributed to Byron began circulating online, Astronomer issued a clarification via LinkedIn denying that the former CEO had released any public remarks. The company also addressed a misidentification involving a third person seen in the clip, noting that several reports were “incorrect.”

Cabot, who oversaw all human resources and people operations within the company, tendered her resignation shortly after Byron’s departure. Astronomer has not disclosed further details about the nature of their exits or any internal policy implications.

The leadership shakeup marks a significant shift for the New York-based company, which is widely known in the tech space for building and supporting Apache Airflow-based data platforms.

Neither Cabot nor Byron has issued personal statements in response to the incident as of publication.
