How Four Sons Changed the Way Christy Marie Sees the World

Christy Marie believes that motherhood is the experience that most impacts how she sees people, responds to challenges, leads her businesses, and defines success. As a mother of four sons, Christy has learned that life rarely follows a predictable plan, and that some life lessons come from learning to adapt when it does not.

“I’m a mother before I’m anything else, and with four sons, two of whom are autistic, there are days that simply require more of me,” Christy says. Motherhood has taught her that people do not all move through life at the same pace or need the same kind of support. It has also taught her to replace expectations with curiosity and judgment with understanding.

Those lessons have become especially important in her professional life. Christy entered the permanent makeup industry in 2012, but over more than a decade, her work has turned from traditional beauty services toward restorative art. As the founder of Posh Beauté in Beverly Hills, she specializes in paramedical and restorative pigmentation, including scar camouflage, areola restoration, and brow restoration. The more experience she gained over time, both personally and professionally, the more she recognized that beauty services can carry a significance much greater than what is visible on the surface.

“Especially in restorative work, you realize very quickly that you aren’t just working on skin. Someone may be handing you an area of their body connected to cancer, surgery, motherhood, trauma or years of insecurity. That deserves tenderness,” she explains.

Motherhood has also helped Christy understand that tenderness is not weakness, but a form of strength. Raising children, particularly children with different needs, has required her to listen carefully, be flexible, and recognize that progress can look different from one person to another. Those same qualities now influence the way she works with clients who trust her with personal parts of their own stories. For Christy, restorative aesthetics is therefore about far more than technique. Every procedure is individualized around a person’s skin, anatomy, scar tissue, history, and goals. Just as importantly, she strives to create an environment where people can feel safe and respected. 

Her experience as a mother has also influenced the way she educates other professionals. Through training, speaking, and industry education, Christy encourages practitioners to look beyond the procedure itself and recognize the person sitting in front of them. And nowhere is that concept demonstrated more perfectly than in the Elevate Autism Foundation, which grew from Christy’s experiences raising two autistic sons. Working through therapies, medical appointments, advocacy, and resources gave her a unique understanding of how overwhelming it can be for families trying to determine what support is available and where to find it. So, instead of keeping those experiences within her own family, Christy turned them into an important mission.

“When you’re raising a child with additional needs, so much energy can go into advocating, explaining, researching and trying to find the next right resource. I want Elevate to soften some of that experience. I want parents to feel heard, children to feel understood, and siblings to know that their experience matters too,” she says. 

The foundation shows that support must extend beyond the person in the middle of a challenge. Families need to feel seen as a whole, and with advocacy, education, community partnerships, and access to resources, Elevate Autism Foundation creates better understanding and connection for families navigating autism.

For Christy, the demands of motherhood have not pulled her away from her purpose, they have solidified it. Her businesses, educational work, and nonprofit advocacy all reflect lessons she learned at home, such as meeting people where they are, listening before assuming, and making room for individual differences. Being a mother has made Christy more aware of the weight people carry and more determined to make that weight a little lighter. In her work with clients, professionals, and families, she brings the perspective motherhood has given her: that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity.

Motherhood has been the greatest teacher to Christy Marie, and the lessons she has learned shape the woman she is and the difference she hopes to make in the lives of others.
