Kylie Minogue Cancels Denver Show Due to NBA Playoff Conflict: ‘I’m So Sorry’

The pop superstar’s long-awaited Colorado debut is put on hold as NBA playoffs take priority, but Kylie promises Denver fans she’ll be back.

The pop icon’s long-awaited North American Tension Tour hits a snag as the Denver Nuggets’ playoff game forces a last-minute venue change, leaving fans disappointed but hopeful for a future visit.

Kylie Minogue fans in Denver were hit with an unexpected disappointment this week, as the Australian pop legend announced the cancellation of her April 29 concert due to a scheduling conflict with an NBA playoff game.

The Ball Arena, which was slated to host Minogue’s Colorado stop on her Tension Tour — her first major North American tour in over 14 years — will now instead serve as the battleground for Game 5 of the first-round playoff series between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Minogue took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday to share the unfortunate news with her fans:

“I’m so sorry that we’re now unable to visit Denver on the Tension Tour due to a scheduling conflict with the NBA playoffs,” she wrote. “I was really looking forward to performing in Colorado for the first time.”

Despite the setback, the pop star remained gracious, offering support to the Nuggets and their fans:

“Sending my best to the Denver Nuggets for their hometown games,” she added, closing with hope: “I really hope to visit you all in Denver soon.”

A Tour Years in the Making

Minogue’s Tension Tour — launched in February 2025 in support of her latest albums Tension (2023) and Tension II (2024) — marks a rare return to North American stages. The tour features an energetic setlist filled with fan favorites like “Love at First Sight,” “On a Night Like This,” and her viral dance anthem “Padam Padam.”

The singer’s return to touring follows the success of her 2023 Las Vegas residency, which concluded its initial run in May 2024. While her live performances have remained largely outside North America in recent years, Minogue’s current tour has been a long-awaited celebration for U.S. and Canadian fans alike.

What’s Next

Although Denver is now off the itinerary, Minogue’s Tension Tour will continue with three remaining North American dates through May 2, before heading to Europe, South America, and Mexico, wrapping up on August 26.

Fans in Denver may have missed this moment, but the optimism in Kylie’s message suggests the door remains open for a future appearance in the Mile High City. And for now, Denverites can only echo the sentiment of Minogue’s iconic hit: “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”
