Kelly Clarkson Cancels Remaining Las Vegas Residency Dates to Prioritize Family

Singer postpones August shows at Caesars Palace to care for her children amid ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s illness

Following the earlier postponement of her opening weekend, the singer reveals her ex-husband’s illness and emphasizes the need to be present for her children

Kelly Clarkson is placing family above all else as she cancels the remaining August dates of her Studio Sessions Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The decision comes just weeks after the singer and talk show host postponed the residency’s opening weekend in July.

In a heartfelt message shared late Wednesday on X (formerly Twitter), Clarkson wrote:

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”

Clarkson shares two children—River Rose, 11, and Remy, 9—with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, whose illness she referenced in her message.

“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,” Clarkson added, expressing gratitude toward her fans.

The announcement came shortly after fans noticed their digital tickets had been shifted to new dates in late July 2026, sparking speculation which was soon confirmed by Clarkson’s post.

This isn’t the first time the Grammy-winning artist has had to address last-minute changes to the residency. The original opening weekend in July was canceled just 90 minutes before showtime. At the time, she shared:

“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans… I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me, and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”

A statement from The Colosseum at Caesars Palace praised Clarkson’s artistry, noting:

“Kelly is an unparalleled artist who has developed a remarkable new show for the Colosseum… We are confident that when she’s recovered, fans will experience an incredible, intimate performance from one of this generation’s leading voices.”

At her rescheduled opening night on July 11, Clarkson addressed the delays directly to fans, saying:

“I know some of y’all had tickets for last weekend’s shows. I’m so sorry. We can’t help our bodies sometimes… But thank y’all for showing up. We are so excited. This is my favorite residency — my favorite show I’ve ever put together.”

With honesty and grace, Kelly Clarkson continues to navigate the challenges of personal life and public performance, reminding fans that sometimes, family must come first. Her vulnerability and commitment to her children have only deepened the admiration her audience holds for her—not just as a performer, but as a person.
