The actor firmly distances himself from the embattled music mogul, addressing rumors and clarifying his stance on the swirling allegations.
Will Smith has firmly denied any association with Sean “Diddy” Combs amid the music producer’s ongoing legal troubles, including federal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. Speaking candidly during a concert near San Diego on Friday, the King Richard actor addressed rumors linking him to Combs and events described as “freak-offs,” gatherings allegedly involving sex workers and other misconduct.
“I don’t have s— to do with Puffy,” Smith declared to the audience in a video shared by TMZ. “So y’all can stop all them memes. You can stop all of that bulls—.” Smith emphasized that he had no involvement in the allegations swirling around Combs, who has denied all accusations against him.
Smith’s remarks come after online speculation tied him to Combs’ alleged events, which were brought into the spotlight by claims made by Cassie Ventura in her now-settled lawsuit. “I ain’t been nowhere near no damn freak-off,” Smith clarified. “Listen, I do enough of my own s—, don’t be putting me in other people’s bulls—.”
While Smith acknowledged that he had been photographed with Combs at industry events over the years, he reiterated his lack of connection to the recent allegations. “I ain’t been nowhere near that man, ain’t did none of that stupid s—,” he stated. “So whenever y’all hear it, if somebody say that, it’s a damn lie.”
Smith, who typically refrains from responding to internet gossip, explained why he felt compelled to speak out in this instance. “I usually don’t respond to dumbass stuff ’cause like, it’s so many things,” he said. “But that one, your memes was doing too much. Y’all was having me mad.”
Smith’s comments follow news of Jay-Z being named in a separate lawsuit accusing him of assaulting a minor alongside Combs at an afterparty for the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit an attempted extortion.
Meanwhile, Combs faces significant legal challenges, including charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges, and his arrest has triggered a broader investigation that attorney Tony Buzbee suggests could implicate additional high-profile figures.
“The names that we’re going to name… are names that will shock you,” Buzbee said during an October press conference.
As speculation continues to grow, Smith has made his position clear: he has no connection to Combs’ legal woes or the alleged events under scrutiny. With his characteristic candor, Smith concluded, “I haven’t been anywhere near that, and I won’t let anybody try to pull me into it.”
For now, Smith is focused on maintaining his personal integrity amid the noise, leaving no room for ambiguity about his involvement—or lack thereof.
