The rapper teases dream collabs, new music, and his highly anticipated Coachella performance.

Travis Scott is ready to shake up the music scene with bold collaborations and fresh sounds. In a new Billboard cover story published on Monday, Feb. 10, the 33-year-old rapper revealed his dream collaborations—surprising fans with unexpected names.

“This might be crazy, but I would love to get Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter on a hook,” Scott said. “Because I have some ill ideas.”

The Grammy-nominated artist also mentioned Khruangbin, the psychedelic-funk trio, as another act he’d love to work with in the studio.

Respect Over Rivalry

Scott brushed off any notion of competition between his 2014 mixtape Days Before Rodeo and Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, which went head-to-head on the charts last year.

“Charts, shmarts, man,” he said. “Who measures that? Her album’s cool. Days Before Rodeo is 10 years old. It all works.”

A New Musical Era on the Horizon

As he gears up for his next album, Scott shared that he’s still fine-tuning the project, ensuring it lives up to his groundbreaking 2023 album, Utopia.

“I feel like for Utopia, I was striving to push things to a high level,” he explained. “I’m still reaching for that.”

The Houston-born rapper also revealed he’s been deeply involved in production this time around. “I’ve been having so much fun with music… I’ve been producing more, making a lot of the album, and going in on that level is making it more exciting. I can’t wait, actually.”

Coachella 2025: A Grand Stage for Scott’s Vision

Scott is set to headline Coachella 2025, sharing the top billing with Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone. The festival, running from April 11-13 and April 18-20, will be a major platform for him to debut his latest work.

Per a press release, Scott is expected to unveil a “fully immersive and experiential world within the desert” for his Cactus Jack label, making his set one of the most highly anticipated performances of the event.

Other major acts on the lineup include Missy Elliott, Charli XCX, Megan Thee Stallion, Benson Boone, Lisa of BLACKPINK, FKA twigs, MARINA, Tyla, Clairo, Anitta, and beabadoobee.

Scott’s fans are now eagerly waiting to see if his “ill ideas” will lead to a groundbreaking collaboration with Swift or Carpenter—and if Coachella 2025 will mark the start of his next musical era.
