Conservative Commentator Calls Actress a ‘Serial Fraudster’ and Claims She Has ‘Ruined Her Brand’
Blake Lively’s ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni has sparked controversy, with conservative commentator Megyn Kelly publicly taking Baldoni’s side. On a recent episode of The Megyn Kelly Show on SiriusXM, Kelly slammed Lively, calling her a “serial fraudster” and asserting that the actress has irreparably damaged her brand.
Kelly did not hold back, likening Lively to Amber Heard and claiming she is fighting a battle she “cannot win.” According to Kelly, Baldoni has presented “hardcore proof” through text messages that contradict Lively’s allegations. “She has started a fight she cannot win,” Kelly stated, adding, “She absolutely ruined her brand.”
The former Fox News host also resurfaced a 2022 clip from Lively’s appearance at the Forbes Power Women’s Summit, where the actress discussed her desire for creative control over projects beyond acting. Kelly argued that Lively misrepresented herself to secure the role in It Ends With Us, saying, “That’s called fraud—when you pretend you want to do the one thing they’re hiring you for, but all along you have secret plans to do something very, very different.”
The dispute between Lively and Baldoni became public in December when Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department, accusing him of orchestrating an online smear campaign against her. She later escalated the matter by suing Baldoni, his studio Wayfarer, and PR executives Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel in New York federal court.
Baldoni fired back with a countersuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in January, alleging defamation and extortion. He also claimed that Lively had created her own version of It Ends With Us—separate from his directorial vision—and threatened to boycott the film’s promotion unless her version was used. According to Baldoni, test audiences favored his cut, but Lively’s ultimately made it to theaters.
With a trial date currently set for March 9, 2026, tensions between the two Hollywood figures continue to escalate. However, a federal judge recently warned both parties that their ongoing public battle could push the trial date up sooner if legal disputes persist in the media.
Beyond their conflict, Baldoni is also facing a breach of contract lawsuit from his former publicist, while Lively was sued by a Texas publicist earlier this month for defamation.
As the legal saga unfolds, the controversy surrounding It Ends With Us has extended far beyond the film itself, turning into a high-profile courtroom battle that continues to make headlines.
