Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen Tie the Knot in Intimate California Wedding Ceremony

Hollywood Grace Meets Gridiron Glory as the Actress and NFL Star Begin Their Forever with a Romantic, Private Ceremony in California

The “Sinners” Star and NFL MVP Seal Their Love in a Private Celebration Marking the Next Chapter of Their Modern-Day Fairytale Romance

Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are officially husband and wife.

The Sinners actress, 28, and Buffalo Bills quarterback, 29, exchanged vows on May 31 in a private and romantic wedding ceremony in California, marking a milestone in their love story that first began in 2023.

PEOPLE obtained exclusive photographs from the event, showing Steinfeld walking down the aisle in an elegant, strapless white gown, beaming with joy. Allen, dashing in a classic black tuxedo, met her at the altar, where the couple shared a tender kiss — the first as newlyweds.

Though the couple has remained characteristically private about their relationship, the emotion captured in those intimate wedding moments speaks volumes.

From Surprise Proposal to Dream Wedding

The ceremony came just six months after their engagement in Malibu on November 22, 2024 — a proposal Steinfeld later described as “magical” and “completely unexpected.”

“I’m so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good,” Steinfeld told Who What Wear, recalling how Allen subtly encouraged her to dress up that day. The proposal took place beneath an arch of pink flowers, with the Pacific Ocean sparkling behind them.

While the moment left Steinfeld in awe, Allen later confessed in a newsletter Q&A that he had been nervous about keeping it a surprise. “It was hard to keep secrets from you and have other people in your life keep secrets from you,” he said. “Multiple times throughout the day, a song would come on and I would tear up thinking about how special our day was going to be.”

His careful planning paid off. “You were extremely surprised, you said yes, and that was all that mattered to me,” Allen wrote. “And the sun was out.”

A Love Built on Friendship and Support

Their love story, which began in May 2023, first caught public attention through candid paparazzi shots, but it wasn’t until July 2024 that the couple made their relationship Instagram official. In February 2025, they graced the red carpet together at the 14th Annual NFL Honors in New Orleans — where Allen was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player.

During his heartfelt MVP acceptance speech, Allen didn’t hold back in expressing his gratitude to Steinfeld: “You’ve been my rock. You’re my best friend. I would not be standing on the stage if it weren’t for you.”

Their bond, built on mutual respect and admiration, now enters a new phase — one anchored in lifelong commitment.

Hollywood Meets the Gridiron

Steinfeld, who shot to fame at 13 for her Oscar-nominated role in True Grit, has carved out a remarkable career across genres and platforms — from the raw emotionality of The Edge of Seventeen to the poetic boldness of Dickinson, and the voice of Gwen Stacy in the Spider-Verse films. Her most recent success, Sinners, a vampire epic directed by Ryan Coogler, has only elevated her star power further.

Allen, equally celebrated in his field, has played with the Buffalo Bills since 2018. Known for his fierce competitiveness and leadership, he recently signed a staggering $330 million contract extension and has taken his team to five consecutive division titles and six playoff runs.

Together, they represent a modern power couple — grounded, driven, and deeply in love.

As they begin their journey as husband and wife, Steinfeld and Allen’s union blends Hollywood glamour with sports-world resilience. From a surprise Malibu proposal to an elegant California wedding, their story is a testament to the beauty of love that grows in the spotlight — yet flourishes far beyond it.
