HBO Sets April 2026 Premiere for Euphoria Season 3 as Sam Levinson Confirms Cassie and Nate’s Shocking Wedding

A time jump, a shocking wedding, and the most daring chapter yet in HBO’s boundary-breaking drama.

A five-year time jump, a long-awaited return, and a wedding no one saw coming — inside the bold new era of HBO’s most provocative drama.

After more than four years of anticipation, HBO has finally set the stage for the explosive return of Euphoria. The network announced on Wednesday that Season 3 of Sam Levinson’s critically acclaimed, culture-shifting series will premiere in April 2026, marking the show’s first new episodes since February 2022.

And the new season promises reinvention on every level.

A Bold Time Jump and a Dark New Beginning

Creator Sam Levinson revealed that Season 3 picks up five years after the events of the Season 2 finale — a narrative leap designed to reflect where the characters naturally would be had they gone to college.

“We basically pick up Rue south of the border in Mexico, in debt to Laurie, trying to come up with some very innovative ways to pay it off,” Levinson said during an HBO Max presentation in London. HBO also released the first look at Zendaya’s Rue — older, world-worn, and at the center of another harrowing chapter.

Cassie + Nate: The Wedding Heard Around Hollywood

In one of the most shocking reveals of the presentation, Levinson confirmed a storyline fans will not be able to stop talking about:
Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are getting married.

“Cassie is living in the suburbs with Nate, they’re engaged, and she’s very addicted to social media… I will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married,” Levinson said. “I’m confirming it. And I promise that it will be an unforgettable night.”

The couple — one of the show’s most controversial pairings — has apparently stayed together since high school, creating a combustible foundation for a season steeped in tension, image obsession, and unraveling identities.

Where the Rest of the Euphoria Crew Lands After Five Years

Levinson also revealed where several beloved characters find themselves post–time jump:

  • Jules (Hunter Schafer): now in art school, terrified of her future and dodging responsibility.
  • Maddy (Alexa Demie): working in Hollywood at a talent agency with her own side hustles.
  • Lexi (Maude Apatow): assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, marking a high-profile addition to the cast.

Returning cast members include Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, Chloe Cherry, Dominic Fike, and Nika King.
Newcomers include Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Marshawn Lynch, Eli Roth, Sam Trammell, Trisha Paytas, and Danielle Deadwyler.

Not returning are Barbie Ferreira, who departed the series after Season 2, and the late Angus Cloud, whose portrayal of Fezco became one of the show’s most beloved characters.

Jacob Elordi on Nate’s Fate

Elordi teased a very different arc for Nate in Season 3, saying the character’s journey will touch on “the end of arrogance” and “the end of hubris.”

“His primary goal this season is just to survive,” Elordi told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s always a treat to play the bad guy… you don’t want to play some morally superior, world-saving loser.”

A New Era Begins

Levinson didn’t hesitate to promise that the upcoming season will redefine the series:

“This is our best season yet.”

With its bold time jump, emotionally charged reinvention, and a wedding that’s destined to dominate headlines, Euphoria Season 3 is shaping up to be the most ambitious chapter of the saga yet.

April 2026 can’t come soon enough.
